Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) for TMJ dysfunction focuses on reducing pain, tension, and movement restrictions affecting the jaw, neck and surrounding structures.

Using a combination of intra-oral and extra-oral techniques (when appropriate), myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and relaxation techniques.

Manual therapy around the TMJ is gentle, we use slow precise movements that stretch and relax the muscles and joint supporting structures. This safe and effective approach not only protects delicate structures of the jaw but also works with the nervous system-gentle pressure signals the nerves to reduce muscle guarding and tension, helping the jaw respond more comfortably and successfully to treatment.

Physiotherapy plays a key role in managing temporomandibular joint dysfunction by targeting the muscles, joints, and soft tissues involved in jaw movement. We specialize in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of TMJ dysfunction, helping patients find lasting relief from jaw pain, headaches, oral motor hypotonia, facial tension, and related neck issues. Using evidence based physiotherapy and one-on-one care, we address the root cause of your symptoms - not just the pain.

Our approach combines detailed assessment of the neck, face, jaw and tongue, hands-on treatment, intra-oral examination, movement retraining, postural and habit awareness, and patient education to restore proper jaw function, reduce pain, and support long term recovery.

Hi, I’m Kristine — a Registered Massage Therapist since 2016. I found my passion in clinical work, helping clients manage pain and tension with a focus on long-term results.

Over time, I’ve developed a special interest in treating TMJ (jaw) disorders and the surrounding neck and shoulder tension that often comes with them. Having experienced jaw clenching and various dental work myself, I understand how much jaw pain can impact daily life — and how targeted massage can make a real difference.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends. Keeping active with our dog is also a must!
